Hello everyone!

As you may have seen from the main awards thread and the Noodle thread, I'm planning on hosting an awards ceremony similar to the previous three years.

Last year, I tried out hosted the ceremony myself (which I don't remember doing ). This was a problem as the posts on here sometimes merge if you post twice in a row in the same thread within ten minutes. As a result, I've gone back to having two hosts again, similar to 2005 and 2006, which would eliminate this problem.

DaisyChain has kindly offered to co-host, and assuming she's still happy to do it, she will undertake that job

I'm still trying to decide a date on when to do the awards ceremony. I plan to do it sometime the week after next, the most likely date being the 2nd October (Thursday) @ 2100 BST. The ceremony should last for just over an hour before the aftershow party commences! It would be helpful if you could reply in this thread to say if you can do this date or not.

If you have won an award/awards this year, you may want to write a speech/speeches ready for the ceremony. If, when a date is finalised, you cannot attend the ceremony and want me to post your speech for you that evening, please send me or DaisyChain a PM with your speech.

You really only need a day that Batty is free. No one else got a look in this year!!!!

If it's a day I can't do, it's a day I can't do (as seems likely). I'll still send in speeches...

I'm not trying to over complicate things, but which days would you be free the following week?

Monday 29th, Thursday 2nd, possibly Friday 3rd, though that's a touch and go one.

I would be happy with either Monday or Thursday - maybe not Friday for me either.

DC - any of those dates good for you?

Awards ceremony is tonight. The doors to the Cafe Special Hall will open at precisely 2010 BST (or in forum land, a new thread will be published at around that time), with the ceremony beginning at 2030 BST.

The awards ceremony has been postponed tonight due to a number of reasons (including Barry's absence).

The ceremony will now take place on Thursday 2nd October at 2100 BST. That should be the final date and time

Looks like I'll have to try my luck with a courgette for transport as I don't think I'll be able to re-book the pumpkin as short notice.

I may be ever so slightly late tonight, do start without me, and I'll sneak into the back of the 'hall', and hopefully no-one will notice...

Although I'm back from Prague, I cant be on line at 9 tonight, however I did PM'd a speech to DC who will post it on my behalf.
