The Cobweb Orchestra is holding a beginners' day on Sunday 9th November at Earswick Village Hall, near York:

"Andy Jackson is arranging this day for beginners, but as always at Cobwebs events, all players are welcome, and in fact, more experienced players are very helpful in guiding beginners through the seeming confusion of orchestral music and playing. The repertoire will be varied; pieces composed especially for this sort of day, as well as pieces written especially for Cobwebs, and who knows? Perhaps even an attempt at standard orchestral repertoire. Under Andy’s skilled guidance, it’s a lot easier than you think."

Cost is £8 for non-members, and all are welcome. Earswick is about 4 miles outside York and there is a regular bus service from the centre of York/railway station.

If anyone's interested and wants a copy of the enrolment form or further details, please PM me. smile.gif

It sounds fun and I'd come if it was a one-off but it's a bit too far to travel to regularly if they're looking for new members. Can people come just for the day even if they're not planning to join the orchestra? If so, I'd be interested to have more details phantasmagoriana if you could email me smile.gif
