Full Version: Eccles Playday - We'd Like Some Strings!

You may be aware that notmusimum and I are holding an orchestral playday on Saturday 15th November, starting at 10:30am, in Eccles, near Salford, Greater Manchester.

We're doing very well for wind instruments, but we'd very much like a few more violins/'cellos and suchlike! You'd need to be about grade 2-3 standard as a minimum level.

If you can come along, you'll be made most welcome.

PM me, or use my email button if you want to know more, and the website, with application form and address of the venue, is here. smile.gif

Tis a shame I'm not nearer - my violin could do with an outing...I've barely touched the poor thing since I did my grade 5.

I'm taking it you can't justify a trip to Manchester MM! biggrin.gif

Any more takers? smile.gif

Sorry Barry - too far for me, and I dread getting on that Manchester ring road huh.gif and being unable to go anywhere except Birmingham, which is what happened last time I was there (we wanted to go to the Lake District)

Fair enough.

Anyone else want to send me an application form? smile.gif

Just a quick reminder of the above playday : it is still strings we're most short of, so if you're free on 15th November and can get up to Eccles (just west of Manchester), it'd be good to see you there! smile.gif

At last count I think there was one each violin, cello and viola but there may be one or 2 more now.
Still time to sign up.

Standard too high for me, sadly. sad.gif One day......

Currently, we have (thinking off the top of my head) 2 violins, 5 violas, 1 'cello, and more strings will still be welcome.

Grade 2 would be OK, looking at your signature, you've positioned yourself as pre-grade 1, which, yes, sadly would mean you may struggle. But there'll be more playdays, and I'm sure your enthusiasm will carry you to grade 2 (and beyond) quickly. smile.gif

This sort of balance is becoming quite common... Whoever said viola was a rare instrument?

Now THAT is a good balance.

Another violin and another cello to add to that now. smile.gif

I can't count...I counted one of the violins as a viola blush.gif

We've got 4 violins, 4 violas, 2 'cellos.

Can still take more! Send your form in now, alternatively, drop me a PM if you're definitely going to come along, with instrument and approximate standard, and pay me or notmusimum on the day. smile.gif

Looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday

yay.gif that I believe makes 30 people! Glad you can come! smile.gif

Did you send me a form, or are you paying on the day? If you've sent me a form, can you do me a favour and PM me, with what instrument you're playing and what standard you are, as I'm not likely to pick up your form until Friday morning, after which I'm heading straight for Manchester.

Thanks! smile.gif
