After a series of health, financial and personal problems, I'm going back to my classical guitar teacher. I've got my first lesson in a year tomorrow. I'm kind of scared.

My teacher generally asks me to bring stuff I want to learn. When I stopped, I was starting to prepare for my grade 8 exams, but I imagine for now, something around grade 6 or 7 would be good, to get me back into the swing of things. I wondered if anyone had any brilliant suggestions. I just feel so out of it!

Did some sight reading, which went remarkably well, and then started work on Villa Lobos Etude 1. I feel like my left hand is now broken! An hour of crunching my fingers into weird stretches and bars after a long time without playing... My teacher is a sadist! :-)

I loved it. It's so good to be back.

bet it wasn't as wearing as 100 bars of 'cello pizzicato wink.gif

Glad you enjoyed the lesson meerkat smile.gif

Well, it didn't give me blisters in the way your tender ministrations did... But it's pretty exhausting. Villa Lobos can be a bit of a challenge in terms of musculature.

I did learn something that day - that much pizzicato on 'cello = not a good idea...

Do keep us updated on your guitar progress meerkat, it's really good to see you playing regularly again smile.gif
