Just in case anyone is wondering why I'm not here very much or if, heavens I hope not, I've upset anyone by answering PMs or emails late. I have a lot of family illness at the moment, of the chronic, not going away type. 3 of my 5 parents/in-laws/steps are all ill.

Poor Bev. And it's such a busy time of year too.

It's sad when you know they're not going to get any better, but at least they are still with you. We have just the two mums left now, and miss our dads very much. You must be tired, and I'll think of you.

That's a really difficult situation, try not to take on too much and get help and rest where you can.

Very sorry to hear this Bev. At least you have May to keep you level-headed and sane! Take time for yourself and try to recruit other family members to do their share too.

Thanks everyone. It's difficult because my Step is estranged from his family. They turn up once or twice a year, make soothing noises, and disappear again
My brother died years ago, so there is only me.
Divorce is difficult at the time, and then it comes back to haunt you when the parents get old and infirm, because there are 3 or even 4 older couples to take care of. I can't ignore what is happening, and yet there is no one to share the load, or even the decisions with.
Ah well, May will keep me sane. I'll go and have a bottle glass of wine with her.

I haven't been around alot recently due to different yet similar reasons. Too much going on in the family, so I can empathise with what it can be like and hope it sorts its self out soon.

Take care, and make sure you look after yourself along with all the other family and community members who are also relying on you at this time.
