In case anyone is interested, singers are invited to join a choir to sing Handel's Messiah, which I gather many smaller choirs haven't got the numbers for so this seems like a good opportunity....

It's taking place in Leeds - details as follows, let me know if you want more info:

-------------------------

WHO IS IT FOR? This event is designed for

  • Choir Members
  • Choral Directors
  • Choir Leaders who enjoy singing.
NOTES
  • We already have soloists
  • Parking will be limited but many busses pass the church
  • Handel was born 250 years ago around this date.
  • The first performance of Messiah took place on Handel's birthday..

That's a shame Ben, particularly when I think I may have been able to arrange for you to play the Leeds Parish Church organ whilst you were here if you'd wanted to. Another time maybe smile.gif

(Dr Simon Lindley, the Leeds City Organist and trustee of the Yorkshire College of Music & Drama where the Leeds forum/Players for Pleasure concerts are held, has been very generous in the past in allowing organ-playing forum friends to play the Leeds Parish Church organ)
