Thanks for the link! I will enjoy going back to that!

Just listening to the Chopin Berceuse...I have to say I really love that piece. I've never attempted it; one to approach with a good teacher I think. I tend to struggle with achieving that light, shimmery sound in fast passages of such pieces. Very hard to have it sound light and also for the sound to be even.

Standchen is also amazing...had only heard it sung before but this piano version is lovely and wonderfully played! But the end is missing which is a great pity!

I have the CD for Horowitz's Staendchen! Absolutely captivating... sounds like two different instruments playing different parts in unison. Horowitz is so amazing, especially when you look at his hand positions, which seem to be quite unconventional.

Thanks so much for this, Mad Tom; I shall keep trying a few each day. Favourite so far, by a mile, is Angela Hewitt playing the Bach Prelude & Fugue in B minor - absolutely amazing! The piano has the most fabulous tone, too; so relaxing to listen to. smile.gif

I must admit, I much prefer the way Angela plays this at a tempo I could match, but with a style I couldn't come anywhere close to achieving, to the over-fast (IMO) playing of the Haydn by the Chinese pianist. Horowitz is pretty impressive, but Angela Hewitt does it for me.
