Yes I agree with you, very much an American thing and built to appeal as such...and good for Loree for tapping into it...Looks very impressive and that appeals by the bucket load to the USA...I do wonder how many non Grenadila Oboes and Cor Anglais sell here in Europe, there must be a market for them and it can't all be in the USA...I do have a freind who has a Cocobolo Oboe and adores it (Howarth XL) its stunning and she plays it beautifully...I don't detect any real substantial difference in her tone or projection but she is an exceptional player...this is the same player who can single tongue at incredible speed and with remarkable flexibility...really its quite sickening

In truth some people like the lighter tone and weight that instruments like this have...so its horses for courses..
