Hi all,

I've been getting into music for the last couple of years as an adult beginner - I learned the clarinet for about a year, had a break to get married/start new job and then took up flute as I found it easier to cope with covered holes given my tiny hands. Am now on another break as am having a baby in February. I may continue to dabble - I don't really have a long term goal and am just enjoying trying different instruments - I'm quite taken by the soprano sax as I think it makes a beautiful sound (although I may change my mind about that when I've gota sleeping baby to contend with!!!).

If I were to give it a go, would I be able to use my clarinet books given that it's in the same key/range? Is the embouchure much different to the clarinet? I know alot of people say that the alto is better to start on, but how true is that?

Ta all!
