Ooooh maybe I shouldn't have started this topic wacko.gif I'm getting awfully hungry... I totally agree on spaghetti bolognese - but I think I've changed my mind now... Italian food makes me think of this dish I had in an Italian restaurant in town - grilled salmon in a butter sauce with peppers and garlic potatoes... wub.gif

Anything that's not meat, fish or blue cheese.

Potatoes are good, as are most vegetables. Fruit are good too and I should eat more of them. Chocolate, biscuits and umm...cake. This may be why I'm fat.

Yes, there is. It's in an amazing building that looks like it should be a really nice hotel or something. rolleyes.gif
Babybird2
Indeed. I'm always suggesting putting egg on pizzas but my boyfriend claims that he was once in France at a place where they started cracking raw eggs onto pizzas just before eating. I'm pretty sure he's making it up but it seems to have the scared the life out of him blink.gif

glop

Can I buy glop with any meal I may have in your part of the world? biggrin.gif
petrat
No, you have to make it yourself. I did advise against asking but since you have:

Glop is a misture of grated cheese, peanut butter and mushy peas and is wonderful on toast! There! I bet you wished that you hadn't now. It is almost as good as jam and english mustard on toast. wub.gif
Susie
Since we're on the subject of food here, has anyone ever heard of Gloucester pudding?

It's a bit like a fluffy egg custard, except it isn't egg custard because I wouldn't eat it. My gran used to make it for us when we came home from holiday, but we don't know the recipe for it and I'd like to have a go at making it.

This is a complete guess, but could you be thinking of Crundle Pudding, which is an old Cotswolds desert?

Sounds just the sort of thing the French would do - people who will eat steak tartare are capable of anything!!!

I have to confess to having eaten that in Holland where it's also quite popular. My dad loves it and used to have it over here all the time too. I think I've eaten it over here too actually. I used to quite like it wacko.gif

Obviously now that I've been veggie for around 6 years just thinking about it makes me feel ill.gif
