well, since i've taken up the flute, i've been neglecting my fiddle a little. but this, no longer!

today i called up Liz of Elida Trading (no doubt known to many of you), and got a few bows on approval, which i hope will arrive this week. i expect any of them will be rather a step up from the rather "cheap & cheerful" bows that came with my fiddle outfit.

i also got in contact with a local fiddler (Ed Pritchard, in case anyone here knows him) and arranged some lessons, as i'm now at the point--after teaching myself for a few months--where i really need some guidance on where to go next. Ed is also very involved in the local trad music scene, so i'm hoping i might get the opportunity at some point to perform with other people, something i've wanted to do for a while, but i'm rather too shy to just turn up at a session with my fiddle.

so, all in all, a productive fiddle day :-)
