It's like having deja vu! Only a couple of days ago, I couldn't get Sibelius's sound going. That's now fine.

I finally got round to installing the software that came with my digital piano (SONAR LE, or something like that). Guess what...no sound again! I went round checking all the volume controls I could think of, but they were all fine. The only thing the help file suggests is that the sound card isn't installed, which definitely isn't the case, as I can get sound from everything else.

Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Thanks,

Sarah

You may have to go into preference settings within Sonar and tell it to use your soundcard as output. Had similar problems with wavelab.

i often have that problem with sibelius, solved it by making sure the SW-synthesizer volume control was not on mute. you've probably tried that tho?

i agree with andy-piano-flute, have a look at the settings with Sonar.

sorry I can't be of more help! smile.gif

I've been through all the options again and can't see anything out of place. Can anyone see anything wrong with this lot?

Do you mean no sound output through the piano speakers, or through your computer speakers? Of a track you have recorded or of a sample that came with it?

Does your sound card use WDM or ASIO drivers?

Have you read this link: http://www.cakewalk.com/support/kb/kb2005260.asp

It's not connected to the piano at all yet, so it should be playing through the computer's speakers. It won't make any sound at all - I've tried their samples and just randomly putting in notes.

I'm not sure what type of sound card it is (how would I find out?), I've tried all three different settings though and none of them seemed to work.

I've just had a look through that link. The only relevant bit seemed to want me to click a non-existant button (Asio Panel).

Thanks for your help smile.gif

Hopefully I'll get it sorted one day. sad.gif

The Sigma Tel Audio one is my laptop's inbuilt speakers (and, I guess, the sound card that goes with them). The other one is the decent usb speakers I actually use, so that's why I set it like that. I did try puttng it on the other one, but that worked equally badly.
