I didn't have a piano until after my grade 5 exam - until this summer I just practised on my Gran's when I could. But I'm very pleased with my own piano now - It's a Kawai KX-10.

I played the piano to grade 4/5 standard before I got one - my parents didn't think I'd keep it up. I had a keyboard on the floor that I was only allowed to play with headphones on!
I paid £400 for mine which is a lot of Saturdays! It is not a brilliant piano but it is fine to be getting on with at my standard.

Hmm maybe I should follow your example. Anyway, would having a piano that is so nice to play on be good? Hmm, what are the qualities should a piano used for daily training have ?

why isn't that illegal. I supprised you never gave it up.

thats outrageous. mad.gif how dare they.

i've got a really nice piano teacher. her names susan. and i've been going for about 7 years now and shes NEVER even shouted at me not even once.

if she hit my fingers i'd give it up and get a new teacher.
they shouldn't be allowed to hit.
did you tell your mother or father. or gudian.

I have what's known as a digital stage piano (Yamaha) with weighted keys. Pretty darn good in terms of sound as you can choose the sound of a grand piano or others with different acoustics. It cost £600 last year. However my teacher said the other day that teaching someone to play piano and keyboard are two different things entirely. It's great because I need to use headphones to practice where I live but I would dearly love a `real' piano.

Free. I sort of inherited mine. The lady who used to look after me after school was getting rid of hers, and said to me "Would you like a piano?" after she watched one of the concerts I was in!
Piano_Lady
That would be soo cool, if that happened to me!!!!!! tongue.gif
