Hey.

Anyone have any tips for some kind of fancy chord progression that modulates loads?

I don't mean like a chord progression/structure. Listen to the end of the video and you'll understand what I mean!

I'm trying to understand and I don't I'm sorry! Are you talking about the chromatic progression that works up to a final cadence (which I think is embellished with some kind of 9th/11th chord)?

Yes.

I mean the bit at 3:20 around.

I get a bit bored when I play the blues because I can only use the 3 chords I, IV, and V!!! sad.gif

That such a good piece though isn't it? biggrin.gif

For variation, take a look at some of Charlie Parker's blues progressions ... e.g. Blues for Alice. Some examples here.

As nick says, if you start looking at jazz blues progressions you'll find all kinds of substitutions.
