Yay for Courtney! I was up at Howarths a few years ago and he kept popping in and out as part of the process of making a television programme.
Other well-known non-jazz musicians to be awarded honours include CBEs for countertenor Michael Chance and conductor Owain Arwel Hughes, and an OBE for pianist Howard Shelley.
