Amber
Hello,

Just want to wish everyone a healthy, happy and prosperous 2009 and I hope that your dreams and wishes come true. smile.gif

I've got my Grade 7 results (although I haven't seen the mark sheet yet and I can't remember very much from the phone call from my teacher because I was too busy bracing myself for bad news!)

I got 128 Marks.

The breakdown was as follows:

18/24 marks for List A. Bist Du Bei Mir, Bach
20/24 marks for List B. Vaga Luna, Bellini
18/21 marks for List C. Orpheus With His Lute, Vaughan Williams
20/21 marks for List D. The Lass From The Low Countree, Roe.
20/21 marks for Trad Folk Song, Jag Väntar Vid Min Mila (words by Swedish Poet D. Andersson)

18/21 marks for Sightreading. (That is sooooooooo hilarious because I can't sightread!)

14/18 marks for Aurals

It was nice to get some distinction level marks, and I wish I'd just got the extra two marks to take it from Merit to a Distinction. But I'm sort of pleased with the overall score despite that because it's the highest marks I've scored yet in an exam and, much more importantly, I enjoyed the exam itself and I think my accompanist did too (he was brills). smile.gif

I wish I could remember what the comments were. I think there were some nice comments about vocal texture suiting the songs, but I'm not sure I completely understand what that means. But I'll be seeing my teacher next week so I can pick up the score sheet then and discuss it all with him in more detail.

So, on to the Grade 8 Syllabus now......... ! biggrin.gif

Whether I'm clarinetting, fluting, saxophoning, recordering or singing, I still get nervous before a performance. Nerves to a certain extent are good. It shows you care about what you're doing Ambs.

Well done again on the grade 7 yay.gif

Amber, you were *brilliant* at Leeds! Your stage presence is phenomenal, and when you "presented" Mr Mwl1 as your accompanist half-way through your piece, it was a masterstroke of professional confidence even if you didn't feel it!

Many congratulations on your result - you've got a beautiful voice and you well deserve the high mark smile.gif
