I'm female, but I expect the name makes it obvious.
What I'm curious about is why Rhapsodin is being so coy about his gender?
Oh, and like everyone else I assumed AnotherPianist was male. Why did we all do that, I wonder?
Also, I thought the stuff about creative people being more male if they're female and vice versa was really interesting. I suppose when you think about it, you don't get many body-building artists, or Barby Doll-type poets.
Perhaps too much testosterone distracts a man from creative pursuits and too much of the other (oestrogen?) causes a woman to lie around on chaise longues looking alluring rather busy herself composing music, but what about Picasso? He didn't seem to be lacking in the testosterone department, did he? And a lot of the composers were pretty rampant too..
Perhaps they were just trying to convince themselves!

You're female, I'm certain.
And as for us assuming AnotherPianist was male (I did)...
Perhaps it was wishful thinking
. There seem to be an awful lot of females among us. Freda Bloogs excluded, there have been a lot of might-be-male-but-turned-out-to-be-female revelations!

Having thought about it, I'm ashamed to say it was because of the authoritative & confident tone of the posts...they had a masculine quality...but before you all shout... no, when I engage the brain I don't think it's only a male thing - I'm as authoritative-sounding in person as the next man (er, I mean person) - but it's the old archetype thing, instinctively felt!!
How about those of you who correctly thought of AP as female?

Me too.. I also feel that Rapsodin is a male... but until now, he/she still has not reveal his/her gender. It is ok, because he/she has the right to protect his/her privacy.
I did declared that I'm a female in one of the topic.
I'll like to apologise to those that I think they are males but they're not and vice versa..

Those that were certain that I was female may have worked this out as I have referred to my boyfriend in the past (it's a link to a search for me using the word boyfriend, nothing exciting!) maybe it's worrying that I've referred to him and people assumed I was male
although it's more likely that people haven't read/remembered those posts...
I'm not a particularly 'girly' girl (that's sounding good for the creativity!) perhaps being a computer scientist is making me sound more and more male! I like the comment about the lack of males, sorry if anyone was disappointed
!
Rhapsodin is one of the people I couldn't work out... I'd go for male based on knowledge of computers (although I should know better as that would make the wrong assumption for me...) just a gut feeling though there's nothing that's particularly suggested either way. I think that (s)he is enjoying keeping us in suspense too much to tell us!

You are the sweetest drug...of dreams, of delights, of desires beyond the horizon of my senses. Â Your kiss on my brow awoke me from the damps of night and the dark where I'd slept forever until that first taste of you. Â Â
Would you risk so addictive a drug? Â Would you surrender to a wamth, a sensuality more voluptuous and embracing than the heart of endless summer, knowing you will never return unchanged? Â Â
My dear GuestWho! Â the evanescence, the colours and perfumes, the wild intoxication and anxious yearnings of Daphnis and Chloe are barely even the palest shadow compared with you. Â Me? Â I melt. Â I lay my kisses at the gate to your temple. Â
Your eyes, your smile are dangerous enough - they speak beyond words.
You know very well the huge difficulty I'd have playing the Schubert Duet with you.
Hmm, if anyone thinks you're a boy now they have a very interesting imagination indeed... Â Â So there.... |

Oh how could I ever be frightened of walking into the unknown of what the future holds with you at my side? You are my Destiny,my Fate. Knowing what I know of you now, being such a wonderful friend and confidante who has taught me many things,we could both surrender our entire selves in each other glorifying in our mutual love of the Sensual and of the Music we have to share and have shared together.
You are my drug also, with no contraindications, and I want to increase the dosage every second, every minute, every hour of the day so my passions can never be sated for you.For you I would risk everything.
My Temple is open for your embrace, for only you can explore it`s secrets drenched in candelight and more.Dare you enter its labyrinths and unRavel my core?
