Hi, I just wondered if anyone had bought a copy of the new updated grade 4 Music Theory in Practice? Its the green covered one.

I'd just started working through it when I realised that a couple of blocks of pages have been included twice, and some pages have been left out entirely - is it a problem with a batch of these books, or am I the only one??

Also, if anyone had this problem, who do you suggest contacting about a replacement? I'm going to email ABRSM if I can find the right address, but perhaps Amazon UK (where I bought the book) would be better?

Thanks for any info you can give me!

Under the consumer credit act you 'contract' is with Amazon and they should replace it for you.
But I think I would let ABRSM know too.

A few weeks ago I had the same problem with some TG past papers, but ordered from Faber Music through my local music shop. Luckily I checked them while I was in the shop and said something straight away. The music shop owner rang TG while I was there and TG said they'd ring Faber. The following day I received a new set of papers, sent this time direct from TG. I think it's worth letting ABRSM know as it is their own publishing company that produces the books, and then return the book to Amazon - they must have a returns policy.

I've just ordered a Grade 3 theory book from Amazon - shall check it carefully when it comes smile.gif

I had a similar problem with an AB G6 past theory paper. I dealt with the shop I had bought it from, who replaced it for me.

However, I also got a PM through the boards here from someone at ABRSMPublishing - who wanted to make sure I'd had no problems getting a replacement, and asking me to let them know if I did have any problems biggrin.gif They did say that faulty books you should be able to swap at any shop, not just the one you bought it from, but I didn't fancy trying my luck locally (I'd bought the past paper in London, which is just far enough away to be inconvenient for swapping things; but close enough to be one of the nearest two places to get 'unusualy' things [like music]).

I had pages 9-16 printed twice, and 16-33 were missing. I got in touch with Amazon and they're sending a replacement, I'm posting back the faulty one (with the first 16 pages filled in...I hope they don't mind that!). I also let ABRSM publishing know and they're checking the batch, although they say its probably just one rogue copy.

So all is well! Thanks for all your help.
