It depends entirely on how well you play it - the notes are sub grade 1.

I think it's not correctly written though, should start with an upbeat...
Violin Hero
The notes are grade 2 but you need someone of at least grade 3 to play it well.

You haven't heard my Grade 1 violinists then...
Violin Hero
Violincii of course I have not heard your grade 1 students. Why would I have? I don't stalk you, you know!

Laura, if you're planning to go to University soon to study music you really ought to know that you've written it with the barlines in all the wrong places. which would mean the strong beats are all in the wrong places! Also, don't say you wrote it - Vivaldi wrote it! Couldn't you have just copied it from a score?

But you're happy to assume that only someone of Grade 3 level could play it well...
elisabeth_rb
If that were in alto clef, I could play that fine and I'm not at Grade 1 yet. Liz, (Elida) is right about the level. Perhaps someone of Grade 3 standard is needed to sight-read it well, but a pre-grade 1-er could play it with a little prac.

I think what Laura means by 'she wrote it' means that she did this particular piece of copying out or transcribing. There's no need to be so unpleasant or jump to silly conclusions.

Basically what i did was downloaded a midi version of the song, imported it into a programme, which created the music for me

I really don't get why people are being mean to her - everyone makes mistakes and does it really matter anyway laugh.gif It's no biggie.

I'd say that's about grade 2ish. Maybe even 1. And i love that piece biggrin.gif

Wow ! I'd have said the notes were not even grade 1 level (I agree with you, Liz) and that a grade 1 violinist could play it comfortably with a little bit of practise.

Of course, if you want to make it sound like music - who knows what level it is? Certainly someone who is a professional violinist will not play it the same way as someone who has done grade 8.

Minimum grade 1 - but the way it's played will depend on the skill set of the fiddler.

Looked to me like only one person was being mean! mad.gif No need for that, whoever we are, and it spoils the forum for everyone. From what Laura said, then it was the software anyway and, had she had time to really think it through, chances are she'd have adjusted the bars etc. Maybe she doesn't know the piece well and that would make a big difference, no?

I'd say that the score itself is certainly pre-Grade 1 though. I am, and I could play that, well, the viola-ised version anyway! tongue.gif Very true that a player of higher standard would make it sound nicer than me though..... wacko.gif

All the best with the music studies, Laura! smile.gif
