I am playing a grade 1 piece, a Handel gavotte. Should I slur connected quavers or play them detached? The score gives no indication of slurring.

If this is your recorder piece don't slur them.

Thank you, that's another one I owe you. My natural inclination was to slur. What a great forum this is. I am teching myself because my fixed income does not leave me sufficient surplus to pay for lessons.

I tend to slur, but that's usually due to one too many bottles of wine...
