Is anyone familiar with Schubert's Grand Duo, opus 140 (for four hands)? Either to play or to listen to? And if so - what's it like? rolleyes.gif Also, how long is it?

I dont know this piece, but in case you have difficulty tracing it, its also known as Grand Duo Sonata in C, D 812, or just Sonata in C for fourhands D812 (op140). Sound interesting, but I only have 2 hands. biggrin.gif

Dulcie,

If you Google Schubert D812, then click on the third one down (answers.com) you will find that it takes 43 minutes ! Click on it, (The middle one of the three) and there is more info.

It seems to be in four movements. I just found it on this website: http://www.swapacd.com/cd/album/6056088-sc...+duo+rondo+d608. Have you - or anyone - ever used this site?
