One of the options for my son in the 6th form (next year) is to take 3 AS and then A level subjects plus an Extended Project.
He thinks it would be a fine plan for his Project to learn a whole song cycle. He sings bass, finds French and German easy and interesting.
What would you suggest?

Not French or German, but what does he think of the Vaughan Williams Songs of Travel?

Beethoven - An die Ferne Geliebte. The first ever song cycle, incidentally - and a sensible length.

The Songs of Travel is a good suggestion.
I would have thought some of the song cycles might be a bit big for an A-level project. If not what about Schumann's Dichterliebe.
Have a play with the lists on Schubertline.

Thanks for all the ideas so far, we'll have a listen to them all!
