Hi there,
I'm new to the forum and would really appreciate some advice please. My 'music history' is that I'm grade 8 piano, and grade 8 plus diploma in voice (sop), did a music degree, and then...well, gave up! ohmy.gif Found a job that I liked, totally unrelated to music, and did that for ten years. Now, my children are aged 6 and 8, and I've recently run a choir for 6-8 year olds at our local school. I've also joined a newly formed choir here in Bath, and run a very, VERY relaxed chamber choir for mums in my front room!

So I'm rekindling my interest. Trouble is, I desperately need some singing lessons. How on earth do I choose a teacher? Can anyone give me some advice, please?

Many, many thanks!

If you're in Bath, does the uni music department have any suggestions, or what about Bristol uni, or Wells Cathedral, I'm sure one or more of those would have some ideas.

Forumite AnnC is in your neck of the woods and would be a great choice. She is very well qualified and experienced and knows her stuff. She is the person to ask.

Kids choirs are great fun aren't they.

Hi Petrat, thanks for that. I've just emailed AnnC so we'll see what she says. Many thanks again.

Try out a few different teachers and see how you get on with them and whether they can help you do what you want to do with your voice.

If Ann is in your neck of the woods, that's great !
