Hello, I was thinking that with this next session of exams, if the pupil is playing old syllabus pieces, they would do the old scales. However, someone has told me they think it's got to be the new scales. Please can anyone tell me which? Thankyou

Yes - scales, arpeggios etc have to be from the new syllabus.

OOOoo so sorry, Piano grade 2

not at all ... I did wonder if I'd read the post a bit too quickly ! wink.gif

It's the one based on an octave arpeggio, with each inversion in turn ---

so in F it's FACF, ACFA etc (ignore previous nonsense, this has been edited!)

Keys are F major and e minor. Hands separately.

(ed) please ask if this doesn't make sense !

Thankyou, sorry I had to do a lesson. So it's like the old grade 3 Broken Chords? That's very much apreciated, I'm very glad I checked this out in time. Well.I hope it's in time... blush.gif

You're welcome. Yes, it's like pattern 1 of the old grade 3 chords.

I should have thought of that !!
