I have this one in a frame on my bedside table! - it is tongue in cheek though, honest!

IPB Image

on the top is my old Chinese flute, and on the bottom my Yamaha (YFL-211ID).

hmm... they both look kind of the same there, but you can definitely tell the difference playing them.

I worked with an American guy once who had a framed photo of John Wayne on his desk - and claimed it wasn't tongue in cheek. wacko.gif

Anyhow, mine is one of these (HowarthS40):

Wowee smile.gif Looks good... I really want the Howarth's cocobolo professional oboe because I tried it at Howarth's mini-shop a double reed day two years ago and fell completely in love with it!! Plus Gordon Hunt played on it that day and I almost fell off my chair when he did blink.gif

The opposite end of the spectrum to the saxes....:

sorry folks, they're a bit attention-seeking. I thought they would automatically be reduced a bit, but they haven't.
Underneath, the harpsichord, then on top, Moeck Rottenburg descant, Moeck Steenbergen a=415Hz treble, Dolmetsch rescue-job tenor, Moeck Rottenburg treble, Mollenhauer Denner tenor, and on top of those my beloved Moeck Denner treble.

Here are my recorders

IPB Image

From the top down there's Tigger the kung superio descant, then my mollenhauer denner treble with wearing it's cracked-as-of-today headjoint, below that, it's 2nd headjoint and at the bottom, the original one. (I seem to be building up quite a collection of cracked headjoints dry.gif )

However have changed my profile pic to show my flutes - I bought the fife to take on holiday but can barely get a note out of the pesky thing!!

I love the way you've put the recorders on that bit of the ceiling that's just fallen down. laugh.gif

But.... a pink harpsichord?

All I can say is

So cool!! rolleyes.gif

laugh.gif it's more a sort of slightly terracotta-ish dark pink really - it was blackboard black before and looked a bit stark, so my husband painted it. Not quite something people would do with a grand piano, but very acceptable for a little Italian single manual harpsichord biggrin.gif. We got it from a friend who'd had it on its keyboard end in his garage. He gave it to us on condition that my husband get it into playing order, which he did - and whilst he was at it he chewed out the insides with a huge chisel and made it transposable too. We use my miniature recorder as a short lid-stick for it....

Oh, I think you'll find that a large chisel WILL generally make an instrument transpose!

Though not always to a recognisable key. laugh.gif

Steve

PS I assume that your husband doesn't play the oboe and, if he did, he wouldn't paint that pink as well? wink.gif

Thinking about it the large chisel nearly transposed a few people too, when they caught sight of it...

No, twas me who used to play the oboe. I had a Boosey and Hawkes Regent, horrid thing. Doubt it would even have been improved with pink paint laugh.gif

I can't work this out either. The 'help' menu wasn't very helpful in this respect. sad.gif

Please can someone tell us how to post pictures and photos?

Thank you. smile.gif

1. Click on the little icon of the tree. A new window will appear.

2. Type in the URL of the picture. Right click on the picture, go down to 'Properties' and left click on that to get the URL address to type in. The address is likely to end in .jpg .

3. Click on 'OK' in the picture address window.

4. Add reply.

You then should hopefully have a picture like this one (from the November Eccles playday in this case)

Yes and no biggrin.gif You have posted the link, if you choose the other URL then you will post the picture (I've not used photobucket for ages but if I remember rightly there are 3) Just copy and paste the correct one on to your forum reply.

From left to right that's:
Aulos garklein
Dolmetsch Academy descant (pearwood)
Kung Studio treble (cherry)
Dolmetsch Academy tenor (boxwood) wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif
Woodnote bass

IPB Image
And here they all are tidied up in their lovely case (the gark is in what should hold the body of a sopranino, there's a space above it for the nino headjoint. And you can see in the first photo I did leave a yawning gap where a sopranino should be...)
