Full Version: What Computer Do You Use? Please Vote.

I would like to know what computer students use for their music. Please vote your preferance.

To be open with everyone, my choice is a PC. I looked at Apple but cost of purchase and repair made me go PC. Which I hasten to add I am very happy with. It was a close call and although I like the Apple softwear and looks, PC pounds won the day.

Thanks.

Definitely a PC - I really don't get along with MACS, they're seriously strange!!! (maybe it's just me though!). I think it largely depends what you're used to using...

Haha I was thinking the same thing...but then I re-read it, and realised the OP had written 'which computer do you use for music' - so not random other use like forum-ing. smile.gif

No I totally agree - I've always used PCs but when I once went to my mum's friend's house her son was sitting playing a game on an Apple computer, and I just couldn't get used to it!

Exactly! I swear there are loads of features 'missing' (can't think of what, off the top of my head), and I couldn't seem to find any substitutes...resulting in a lot of confusion and some not-very-productive media lessons (meaning more to do at home tongue.gif)

im just incapable of reading, as I read it orginally as "what computer do you use".

So really, at home I use a PC, but at school I use an Apple mac for music.

Oh help!

I use a PC at home but am being given a Mac laptop for Uni. Am I about to be horribly confused!

Lottie, you'll be horribly confused for about an hour or so, a bit confused for a day or two and then after that you won't look back. I got a MacBook just after Christmas and it's wonderful.

My PC is still usable (just) but is on it's last legs. was thinking Id get it repaired but am not sure I'd bother now. One thing though - do use the online tutorials on apple.com to get familiar with your Mac - they are well worth it and will save a lot of frustration. Enjoy! biggrin.gif

You are very lucky! Make the most of it, you'll never go back the Dark Side once you've tried it.

Hmm, one of the things that Macheads always bleat on about is how easy everything is to use. If you have to go thru a pile of tutorials to make the best of an overpriced piece of technology, I think I will stick with my slate and chalk.. wink.gif

I use both and am still telling my colleagues that a Mac at work would be wonderful but they aren't persuaded. But I go very happily from PC to Mac and back again without any problems.

I use a Dell laptop for my music as well as everything else, mainly in terms of music I only use limewire, itunes and sibelius.
