Full Version: Oh Dear, I Have Lost My Flute!

I last saw it about 8 months ago. I am learning viola, so I don't play my flute very much anymore, but I would like to at least know its whereabouts!!!

I have searched the house to no avail. I know that it hasn't been lost outside somewhere. blink.gif

Oh where, oh where, has my little flute gone,
Oh where, oh where, can it be? sad.gif

Any psychics out there who can shed any light upon this situation? laugh.gif

It'll be in the last place you'd think to look.

Whether that's because it'll also be the last place you think to look, and the last place you look, or because of some un-physics law, I've yet to figure out.

Good luck finding it, and remember to play it more often when you do! At least that way it won't vanish again! smile.gif

Try looking with your shoes.
That is a message from the great Eddie, my psychic pony. biggrin.gif

*lol* Yes, I should play it more, you're right! I feel guilty for neglecting it now. Perhaps it has staged a walkout!

It's under the sofa wink.gif

Woo wee woo woooo *psychic-type music*
petrat
No, no Lottie. That was the toffee paper and a single slipper that you saw. biggrin.gif

Wardrobe?

It does normally live in my wardrobe, but it's not there anymore sad.gif

It's not underneath the sofa because we don't have a sofa.

Perhaps my husband has stashed it in the attic! The ultimate insult......being relegated to the attic mad.gif

I shall send him up there later on to search for it!

That's because you'll stop thinking and looking when you find it so.... of course it'll also be in the last pace you look.

Or....

My uncle who's a chemist says it's something about electrons in a 1 dimensional box theory. In short, this means that there's a theoretical possibility that under the right conditions all electrons within an object could be in "excited" states at exactly the same time. Therefore the object will simply cease to exist in that dimension for a period of time.

Sorry - too deep but it's something I remember from my childhood when objects were lost.

Good luck finding it though. You must be all in a flap.

Under the bed hidden behind something (shoes???). See this is why you should play the tuba!

When I couldn't find my guitar it turned out that my husband had put it in the cellar - if you have one try there! Surely things are always in the last place you look because when you find them you stop looking??!
echelon
If it's in the last place you'd think to look, then I'm off outside to search the chicken coop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Maybe it ran away because it felt unloved sad.gif
Miss Ross
Maybe it thought it was a dog and ended up at one of the PDSA centres... sad.gif

My husband has found my flute!!!!!!!!!! biggrin.gif

It had been shoved down the side of a cabinet which is in our dining room huh.gif

I think that I might have done it to stop the kitten going down there blush.gif It was the nearest thing to hand at the time, but I forgot that I'd done it and just left it there. Apologies to my flute.
BerkshireMum
No excuses for not playing it now though! biggrin.gif

Grand. smile.gif

You need to make it feel loved now though - otherwise it might run away for good. tongue.gif

Glad you managed to find it! biggrin.gif

I love the elevated electrons theory. Unfortunately, to my best understanding of chemistry, the best that elevated electrons would do would be the change the colour of the flute/object, not elevate it to a higher plane!

Of course, there is always the quantum explanation where nothing is there until you observe it... (which I think is what was probably meant)
