Hi All

I hope this isn't seen as advertising but I wanted to let teachers, parents and pupils from the Gloucestershire/South Wales/South West region know that as a result of the resounding success of the the Forest of Dean Solo, Duet, Quartet and Ensemble Championship (for brass players) over the least 3 years, the event has now expanded into a full two-day music festival with classes for many other disciplines including Recorder, Woodwind, Strings, Vocal and Piano.

Also new this year is the "Forest of Dean Young Musician of the Year" competition which has two categories - Forest of Dean Junior Young Musician for brass, woodwind and string instrumentalists aged 13 and under who are a minimum of grade VI standard and Forest of Dean Senior Young Musician for brass, woodwind and string instrumentalists aged 14 to under 19 who are a minimum of Grade VIII standard.

Brass classes will be held on Sunday 5th July, all other disciplines including the Forest of Dean Young Musician of the Year 2009 competition will be held on Saturday 4th July. Adjudicator's will be announced in due course. The closing date for entries is 1st May 2009.

If anyone is interested in entering or can help publicise the Festival so that it can continue to grow then please do P.M. me and I'll email a syllabus.

Thanks!
