Full Version: The Armed Man Piccolo Part

The choir I sing with is doing The Armed Man + as I play the flute I was asked if I could do the piccolo part. As I don't actually play the piccolo I said no but knew someone who would possibly be willing to play. However this person (reasonably so) would like to see the music before she commits herself but because we are hiring the score we will not get to see it until 3 weeks before the performance. Does anyone have experience of the part + could give some idea of how difficult it is. The person involved has passed Grade 8 + did a piccolo piece as part of her exam. Also we are unclear as to whether the flute and piccolo parts are 2 separate parts or whether the flautist doubles onto the piccolo as required.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi there,

I don't know this piece at all but found this website through Google, which shows you an extract of the sheet music. You can listen to a sample as well.

Hi,
Thanks for this but it is only the vocal score which I already have. I am interested in the full orchestral score + in particular the piccolo part. Anyone out there who knows it?

Oooooh thank you so much for asking this on my behalf smile.gif

Do we know which movement thing it is yet?

there are several versions on youtube to listen too

Its tricky! There are a couple of movements where the part is very exposed and quick. No probs for a semi pro/pro, you might want to listen to a recording first if you can't get the part more than three weeks beforehand.
