Big thanks to Barry and notmusimum. Good to see everyone else again too, it was fun!

Glad you all had fun : I enjoyed directing you all. Thank you to notmusimum and family for sourcing the venue again, and for all the catering.

Rachi (who was to direct half of the day) was unfortunately taken ill the night before, and didn't make it

. She is now very much on the mend, and I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing her all the best.

Basically, a group of people (adults and children) turn up with their instruments...Yesterday there was about 20 of us, 2 violins, a flute, a bass clarinet (I think!), lots of claris and oboes, a trombone, a bassoon, a percussionist...I think that's it
We basically sight read stuff for the day. We might work on a piece for 20 mins-half an hour, then we go onto the next one, and then we have a break and drink tea and eat biscuits
Sight reading for that amount of time sounds a bit scary, but there's something available for everyone's standard.
It's all pretty relaxed and it's great fun (and judging by the giggles coming from the oboe section yesterday, it's especially fun if you play oboe

)

And we go out for dinner and drink wine

A great summary! Those of you who had the wine : did you like my choice?

A very good job you made of it too sbhoa. Thanks for everything over the weekend!
