You can now send in your forms for the 2nd Eccles orchestral playday!

It'll be on Saturday 9th May 2009, from 10:30am-4:45pm, at the same venue as last time. Eccles is just west of Manchester, with a mainline train station and a Manchester Metrolink station 5 minutes away. We're hoping to have three different conductors this time!

The website will eventually be updated to reflect the new date, but the forms/details are all here.

The tram was packed last time

Eeek, so it is!!!

I'd imagine they'd want to move it for TV purposes, but if they don't I might finish a little early so people can miss the main crush.

Not just TV purposes, but also to stop people drinking all day I'm hoping for Sunday.
Getting on the tram is ok because we're at the first stop, getting off was quite different

I'll keep my eyes open. If it remains a 3pm Saturday kick-off, we'll finish at 4:30pm.

To avoid the footy fans I would get the train from Eccles railway station into Manchester Victoria, then cross Manchester on the free bus.
Looking forward to the playday providing I don't get dragged into a promtion day at work!

I probably won't be collecting from the PO Box again until around about Easter : the reason for this will be clear in the cafe soon.

The Manchester derby has been moved to the Sunday

All being well, I'll be able to manage a PO Box visit this week (first since March 27th). For those of you who have sent applications in since then, many apologies for the long wait for confirmation of the receipt of your forms/payment.

We're doing well. I'd welcome more strings, and Babybird2 I'm sure would like another flute or two to keep her company, but otherwise, we've got a good looking day coming up!

Think we're up to the high teens in numbers coming. Still a little string-thin, so do check the diaries, I don't need to close applications 'til the start of May.

This is one of the events that I had pencilled in earlier, as I really enjoy playing in a group and want more experience of doing so. I also had hoped to finally meet up with Babybird 2 . However, it has turned out to be on a day that I can't make, so I am sorry Barry not to be joining you for this one.
