I just noticed this on the Howarth's website and thought it might be of interest to any clarinettists living in / visiting London over the next few months.

Thanks for that TSax Its always nice to find out about these things.

I was looking at the Selmer Clarinet, Saxophone and Brass day on April 5th. Has anyone been to one of these before, Would I be out of my depth at the masterclasses? (I'm G5) I assume you only listen in on them and not take part.

Depends on the type of Masterclass and whether you want to participate. At the Howarths on tour days, the masterclasses were open to anyone and it was like a free and easy. Well people jumped up with their music and raced to the front laugh.gif No one was hurt in the process biggrin.gif

Oh my god TSax you are an absolute gem, I stumbled across your post and have discovered Robert Plane is doing a masterclass at the academy on the 17th. I'm definitely going to think about going - I'm peforming Arnold Bax's Clarinet Sonata for my second year performance assessment at uni and Robert Plane's Naxos recording of the piece is GORGEOUS. Ooh I'm excited now!
