Hi, I don't normally post here, but you will see from my signature that I have been a piano player for many years.

But I haven't taken an exam on piano for so long, I have no idea about current standards for the various grades. So my question is, does anybody know the lovely piece by Enrique Granados and could they give me some idea of roughly what level you need to be at to be able to play it and get a pass, if it were an exam piece?

Thanks.

This exquisite piece is on the LRSM list - but of course, that doesn't stop you trying it out and getting some enjoyment from playing it!

Thank you Edd, just found it there.

Blimey! A few years ago I learned it and played it to my mum - she said it was one of the most beautiful pieces she had ever heard me play. She would have been even more thrilled if she (and I) had known how far I had progressed from Grade 5!! biggrin.gif

I must get it out and have another go at it. I seem to remember there is a very tricky three stave section in the middle, but I have it all marked out as to which hand plays which notes. Don't think I will apply for taking LRSM though smile.gif

YOu are way too modest Gerald. When I saw Grade 5 piano on your siggy, I thought you may well be at a higher standard than that now, but you played really well when you accompanied me the other day, and that was sight reading.
Maybe you should do a diploma rolleyes.gif

I certainly cannot tackle it.
