I've just found this chap http://www.youtube.com/user/mqbdp who has recorded a number of the 2009-10 pieces for grades 1-6. I've just looked at the Grade 5 pieces and I think he plays them beautifully - he's obviously a more advanced pianist. I wondered whether anyone else had found any that they particularly liked or recommended.

One of my pupils told me this week that he'd found his Grade 4 exam pieces on YouTube. I had a listen and they sound pretty good - I'd be happy for my pupils to listen to them for some guidance on how to play them.

I've come across him as well, and find it very useful to listen to his pieces. I'm on there somewhere playing grade 4 pieces, but I'm not saying where!

I think putting on pieces that you are studying is a good way of trying to stand back and see your own performance from a more objective viewpoint and also perhaps getting a bit of independent feedback from people who are (I hope) completely objective.

I had thought of recording my son, not for Youtube, but just so that where he says he didn't do something and I say he did, I could show him that I was right tongue.gif
