Hi everyone.

I've been reading posts for a while so I thought I should say hello. I am an ex-singing teacher who is now teaching English in Turkey. I am married to a Turk and I have three children.

I'm trying to teach my eldest piano. (She is seven and due to take her Grade I in April.) This is a bit of a challenge for me as I was very second study piano at college. (Trinity - GTCL and LTCL singing) However current funds won't stretch to getting a 'real' piano teacher so I'm trying to muddle through.

Anyway, BFN!

Thanks for the warm welcomes. Everybody seems really friendly here.

I suppose I'll be mostly writing in the parents' forum and the teachers' forum. Are there many other parents who teach their own children out there?

Hi buffy
Glad to see another "foreign mum" here! I'm in Japan, with the longsuffering Mr. Ears and our two sons. Found my way to the Forums when I hit upon the idea of getting music-loving son to do ABRSM exams to keep his music a bit more in line teaching in the UK/Australia/NZ (Japanese system is not bad, just very different).

Best of luck with piano. My piano skills are much too horrible to teach my children, you have my respect!
