For one of my GCSE performances, I have to do an ensemble piece, mine is going to be with my piano teacher, and so id like to do a piano duet (on the same piano, so is that called Piano 4 Hands?). The part I play would need to be around grade 3ish, and the other part could be anything around 5/6/7 i think.

Preferably not jazz-ingly,

Hi,

I quite like The Joy of Piano Duets. It has some that are easier than grade 3 but some that are a challenge. There are a few jazzy pieces but also some well-known classics. You could choose to play either part as both are the same standard.

Hope that's helpful. Good luck!

Pam Wedgwood (or however you spell it...) has a duet book which is grade 3-5

It is jazzy I think, but it is excellent and my students love it! They are really nice and fun smile.gif

The Sound of Music pieces can be played as duets. I also came across somebody playing Strauss as a duet for GCSE, but don't know where it came from! It was a great arrangement, though, if you could find it on musicroom.com or similar. (I'm loath to attempt to spell "die fliedermouse", but that was the piece in question, and I think it was in a book of Strauss pieces arranged as duets)
