this is the last time i wil go on about this, i promise
anyway, you all know i cannot for the life of me get the high notes on clarinet, when i have played it for 4 years. why when ive played the flute for 3 months can i get right up to the top top C, and i can get the notes on sax as well.
can one person just not be suited to an instrument so much that they cant go any further, does that make sense?! i mean am i jsut not suited to clarinet, and more suited to sax and flute, or are they easier?

I was just wondering if you had tried different clarinets?
Is your instrument ok? Can others play the high notes on your one?
I have a very old Alto Sax which I find difficult to play certain notes (esp low notes), a professional tried it out and he could play them (with ease too, hated that!) but suggested the sax get an overhaul.
Is the instrument up to the job?
I know a clarinet player who I wouldn't rate highly who can get the high notes (though not perfectly clean every time, scary!).
I have no doubt that if your instrument hasn't any problems and you stick at it, you'll get there. They you won't remember ever having not been able to do it!
I would have thought that managing the high notes on a sax makes you a very good bet to conquer the clarinet!
One last point - try a different teacher just for these notes! You just never know if a fresh look at what you're doing might do the trick....
And let us all know how you get on.
