What's everyone's favourite piece of piano music to play? I ask this, because I have run out of awesome music to play, and currently only have one piece that's fantastic(Ravel's Pavane), and a piece that's too hard for me (Rachmaninov's prelude opus 23 no. 5 in G minor), and I would quite like something else to entertain me. Any suggestions welcome! smile.gif

Mozart - Variations on a familiar theme (twinkle twinkle little star) is quite nice.

You might like Tchaikovsky's Seasons. (Don't understand the title - there are twelve pieces - one for each month). Most of them are not difficult to play. October is especially beautiful, and much easier to play than any Rachmaninoff Prelude.

At the moment I'm really enjoying the music from the Twilight score and Top of the Mornign by Mike Oldfield. I enjoy music from films. I like my grade 7 pieces but I'm a bit bored of them because I've had to play them non sop recently for my AS music perfomrance concert. Not quite sure what to recommend though because I'm assuming your a pretty good pianist.

Oddly I played this last night for the first time in years. The correct title is Variatons on 'Ah, vous dirai-je maman'

I heard this played live recently by a 12 year old girl. It was very well performed!

If you find Rachmaninoff Op.23/5 too difficult, why not try the prelude before it (Op.23/4 in D Major) ? It is not easy, but it is less demanding than the g minor ( and it is a beautiful piece giving scope for romantic sensitivity and having a quiet, reposeful ending).
