Well done to Jamie, though I'm sorry to hear he isn't keen on music; maybe he'll change as he gets older and be glad he can play an instrument.
Fingers crossed for Beth.
Thanks
I'm probably overstating it. Compared to Beth he isn't as keen and he isn't as committed to practice. He loves playing in groups. He plays the cornet in a band in school, in a band with Staffordshire Performing Arts and with Amington Junior Band. All of which he really enjoys. He just doesn't like the boring bits.
He is very keen to continue with both the piano and the cornet and I hope music is a part of his life. I think it will be. But he'd rather read than practice.

Violin daughter's results came through today. She got a distiction in her Grade 7 violin! She has been so anxious, jumping every time the phone rings.
We are all over the moon and will be celebrating tonight!!!

Congratulations - fantastic result

I've just got Jamie's Grade 5 Cornet results. He got 113. He got merit on his pieces but a marginal fail for aural and scales. To his teacher's amazement he passed the sight reading.
I'm pleased with this result. He did is Grade 2 exactly 2 years ago and he isn't very keen on music so it is a good result.
Waiting for Beth's sax results and she hasn't even taken her Grade 3 piano yet. That is on Tuesday.

Well done to Jamie - that's a brilliant result, especially for a reluctant musician (I've got one of those

). His pieces must've been pretty solid merit scores, so I hope he's inspired to carry on.
He is. I think he is in the middle of a big leap in his maturity towards music. He is suddenly doing much better at learning new work on the piano.
It is so good to see him do well.
Thanks
