It was my mum's funeral yesterday. The church was absolutely packed out - standing room only - which was such a lovely tribute to her. I just wanted to share this poem which she chose:

Heaven is like a great hillside, to which you come at last
when all the striving and pushing are over and done for:
and here you sit down and rest;
and its beauty takes you
and you dissolve into it,
very close and very still,
and gradually you forget and fade;
till nothing remains at all,
but the beauty, and the wind
upon the hillside and the sunshine;
and the Everlasting Peace.

So sorry to hear about your mum Carol. That's a lovely poem. I'm sure the funeral was helpful to you, in a way.

Thinking of you.

All the best.

I don't know where it came from - I found it written down by my mum - it said source unknown, but quoted from an artist who used to live in our town.
