I am very pleased to announce that bohemian will be doing an hour long violin recital in London! Many, many thanks to Cadence for sourcing the venue!

The venue will be:

on Sunday 7th June, at 3pm.

Tickets will be priced at £6, and the venue has a limited space (30 seats), so if you want a ticket, apply sooner rather than later!

Bohemian is an amazing musician (as many of you will know from the old recordings website), so if you're free that afternoon, do come along for a wonderful afternoon's recital

For anyone who's curious, the programme will be all unaccompanied violin pieces. The two major pieces I'm performing are:

Bach: Partita No1 in Bm
Ben-Haim: Sonata in G

Both incredible works, the Ben-Haim is not so well known but a modern masterpiece. I expect I'll also play a few smaller pieces like Paganini caprices (if I'm brave) and a piece which is all pizzicato... The plan is to make the programme as varied as possible for violin solo.

I'll make a facebook event so if anyone wants the link to that just PM me or say here and I'll PM back with the url. Also, I'll be playing a similar programme at venues quite a way from London so if London, or June 7, are not do-able I'll post up details of the other recitals (but they wont be of any interest for anyone living vaguely near London).

I am very sad to say that I will be unavailable on that day to come and watch the performance. I love seeing fellow violinists live, I rarely get the chance.

Bohemian it will be an amazing opportunity for you to get public performaning experiance.

I hope to get these chances like you in the near future. I know you are a better vioinist than me, I am only playing at grade 8 standard, I know i would struggle with your pieces!

Shame you can't make it VH, but many thanks, and I'm sure you will be playing recitals sooner than you think. I only did my grade 8 a few years ago (and, erm, I still struggle with these pieces!! Eep. Although they're coming along alright now )

I heard bohemian doing a sound test in the recital room a couple of days ago.

Well...what can I say?

Bohemian can certainly find her way round a violin. It was an amazing recital, the sort of recital that does make you go 'wow'....

Thoroughly loved the Ben Haim : that's a new piece (and indeed a new composer) on me...

Thanks to everyone that made it happen, audience, bohemian and Cadence (who's unwell, and didn't make it to see the finished product - get well soon Cadence).

And there's a second chance to see her play, in York, on the afternoon of Saturday 14th November : more details to come...

Well, it looks like I'm first back. {EDIT: no, looks like Barry's back too }

Bohemian played some marvellous music magnificently.

My particular favourite was Paul Ben-Haim's Sonata in G op 44, which is a truly stunning work for solo violin. The slow movement has just become one of my all-time favourites.

Congratulations to Bohemian on a very good performance.
