Went into a music shop today, to buy the grade four piano book (took grade 3 on the 19th, should be doing grade 4 in june, so need it asap (want grade 5 to help toward my GCSE)) Out of stock.

Whats worse, is that it will take them 2 weeks before they get another copy.
Oh, and not to mention the fact that 'MUSIC SALES' IS IN THE SAME TOWN! HOW CAN IT TAKE TWO WEEKS?!

Why not order direct from ABRSM publishing? I did that once and it arrived within a couple of days.

Two weeks isn't long, but I know it's infuriating when you want to get started on something straight away, and you could make good use of the Easter holidays if you had the music now. Could you try the internet - Musicroom, or Forwoods or - as BerkshireMum has suggested, ABRSM? Good luck

I sympathise, but such is the nature of ordering things - shops often have to order on a cycle, or wait for a minimum order, or know that they are 'non-priority' so get things sent slowly...

I currently have on order some music that the shop who are sending it to me are waiting for the publisher to send to them.
Every day, I drive past the publisher's distribution centre twice on the way to/from work.
So, they are going to package it up and send it to the north of England, where it will be packaged up differently and sent to me. I feel like just nipping in to reception there and saying 'can I just pick this up from one of your shelves?' but you know that it doesn't work like that...

My local music shop does a same-day post service if music is in stock (although they are closed on a Monday). Phone Windblowers in Nottingham and see if they have it in.

unfortunately I need it by tomorrow, as thats when my last lesson is until after the easter holidays.
Oh well...

Do you know anyone you could borrow it off?
