Hi monkey flute

It looks as if we're all a bit stumped for ideas doesn't it huh.gif

Have you asked the landlord if s/he knows what the customers would like? They will want your music to attract customers to the pub, so it's in the landlord's interest for you to play what the customer wants and s/he might have some ideas unsure.gif

Otherwise all I can suggest is that you try out lots of different types of music, and note which type the customers seem to most appreciate.

You might find that there is a different type of clientele on different nights unsure.gif

Sorry I can't be more help.

PS. I've just noticed morris dancing in your signature - what fun! party2.gif

Sorry I can't resist. I was at a massive morris "do" in Nottingham on Saturday.

Well, my tastes are a but odd, but I'd like to hear 'here comes the flood' by Peter Gabriel. And 'I wish that I could shimmy like my sister Kate'
Ed the Tread.
Hocus Pocus by Focus would be great to hear, I have never heard a pub band cover this song - or anyone else for that matter.

Personally I'd prefer to hear a band playing music they love rather than just playing stuff that they think will be popular.

If my local is typical of the pubs you play in the type of mix you do is great as there will be a wide range of ages.

Any song that has great 'sing-along' potential will go down well.

Keep doing the stuff you love.

A line from Roots by "Show of Hands" comes to mind, "Three folk singers in a pub near Wells".
karslima
Yesterday by Charles Aznavour
What's Going On by Marvin Gaye (he was good on the bongos)
Copa Cobana (more bongos)

That'll have them weeping, then up and dancing.

Somehow I can't see any of these happening, but it might give you some ideas.....
