Hi all, advice please!

I've been thinking about recording some piano music. I'm nearing completion of a big project (for me!) and thought it would be fun to have a permanent record of my efforts. I could record it nearby and at little cost on a digital piano, but, having never done any recordinig before I'm a bit concerned that it might shatter my blissfull illusion that it's sounding OK!!!

Any experience of recording, anyone? Anything I need to think about, obviously other than knowing the music really well?!
