Would the examiner ask a Grade 8 candidate to play an arpeggio in a specific inversion instead of all the positions in sequence (i.e. root position followed by 1st and 2nd inversion)?

I think it's extremely unlikely that they would ask you to play more than one inversion of the same arpeggio.
