I was thinking of switching from ABRSM to Trinity after my grade 8 exam, is this possible?

PS. After re reading your post I am not sure if you have taken your grade eight yet or not. If not please don't be in a hurry to take a diploma. Spend a year at least learning new repertoire, sight reading as much as possible, listening to music, attending as many live performances as possible and becoming a well-rounded musician.

I'm taking this summer ABRSM Grade 8 and then in December I'm taking Trinity's ATCL.

I also might take the DipABRSM, but I'm not sure if I can afford all those exams fees!
