I've had my last lesson before Stalybridge. This means the next time I perform my piece will be in front of an audience *gulp*...

What instrument?

Voice. May be from the book rather than memory, but I hope you enjoy it all the same smile.gif

ohmy.gif We're not meant to do stuff from memory are we?

I can probably do large chunks of it without the music, but there's so much there it's useful to have the music for landmarks.

Nope smile.gif : it's tradition that singers do, but I don't think I'll be able to.

Singers have to perform from memory in ABRSM grades Flossie. smile.gif

Memory is in not required.
It's entirely up to you. smile.gif

Thanks! biggrin.gif

Just one thing sbhoa - do you have the full postcode for the church. There's just the 1st bit on the web-site.

If not don't worry I'm sure I'll be able to dig it up from the web somewhere.

Must say I'm looking forward to it really, it's my first forum event

Do we have a running order or anything yet?

I'm arriving at the station at 9:43 with Babybird2. How do we get to the venue?

For those who will be arriving a little early please be patient if you are there before me. Not sure what time you'll be able to get in the building. I'm aiming to be there for about 10.15 as the booking is from 10.30 to 5.30.

I seem to recall that there were some possible plans for informal ensemble playing in the morning? unsure.gif

I'm wondering what instruments I should be bringing with me? smile.gif My flute is obviously coming, because that's what I'm playing in the concert. My piccolo is coming for Babybird2 to try and my clarinet is coming for Barry to have a look at what I do and possibly for Babybird2 to have another go on it. I can't remember whether I was suposed to be bringing recorders and violin for anything? unsure.gif
Babybird2
Flossie, I'm not going to bring my viola. It's a bit of a pain carrying it around and Barry doesn't think I'll have much of a chance to play it.

Will bring descant recorder though smile.gif

BTW, what train are you getting on the way back? smile.gif

For the morning I definitely have people bringing things for clarinets, Flutes and upper strings.
I think that Barry mentioned recorders. We have some recorder players coming but not playing recorder in the concert so if people want to do that I'm sure they'll find somebody to play with.
There will also be 3 or 4 sax players and some pianists.
There is a digital piano we can use in the school room.
The word here is informal so do feel free to bring what you want and invite people to join you.

About half of the participants are not forum members but those who are can post on this thread to ask who might like to play what during the morning.
We don't have a huge amount of space so there will be some turn taking which leaves time for people to relax and socialise as well as play.
I think that on the whole one or two instruments might be plenty unless you've arranged things in advance with somebody. The morning does include people rehearsing with accompanists and people like to have some 'chill' time too.

If you want to know any more please either post here or PM me.

I'll bring the gold music medals book for some informal fluting smile.gif It's rachi, I believe, who will be doing something similar for the clarinettists. smile.gif I'll bring a few clari duets too for anyone who's up for that.

I'll bring a couple of recorders, again, if anyone wants to do anything recordery, I'll bring a book or two.

Really looking forward to this! Glad that I've chosen straightforward pieces as I haven't had time to practice ph34r.gif

If anyone is interested, I'm bringing 4 duet books with me (3xviolin, 1xviolin/viola)

Also, if anyone wants me to download ensemble music from music-scores.com, let me know and I'll pass it onto you.
