[Cool, I'm going to book, regardless of whether my cousin can join me. I'll probably drive up and Park next to my office I think. Much easier to get back home from... no way am I parking around the RAH!

Hi Solari.

I did it last year when I came to see Lang Lang.
Or, you can park the other side of South Kensington, close to station like Bute Street.

I am also kent person (border of London) and join in you guys on that day.
Very much looking forward to see all of you smile.gif (I met barry-clari before)

Oops should have posted in this thread but I see there are still quite a few tickets available for Prom 60, even in the stalls... I might book up - I need to see what poor unsuspecting fool I can drag along with me first. What are you lot doing before/after? I might be up for a catch-up either way.

Before, I'll find a nice restaurant to meet up in, we'll probably have drinks and ice creams in the interval, but it's likely we'll disperse at the end. I believe it ends about 9:45pm Solari, I'll check and get back to you smile.gif

I think South kensington is the best, so that we can walk to RAH. 10 -15 minutes max.
There are many there,?one very easy to find it Carrucio (italian) just in front of station.
or some thai restaurant (note; we don't have to play that day, so we don't have to worry about spicy food for our mouthpiece!) or French (South Ken is French area).

Maybe it is easy to find out for peolpe who comes from outside London. To find restaurant without know road it always nightmare...
How do you think? blush.gif

There are plenty of pubs which serve food on Gloucester Road, and last season we had a couple of very good meals (and pints!) at The Prince Regent.

Hi,

I'm just thinking it's easier to get back over the river from Cannon Street area to be honest so was going to park up there... I didn't want any hassle getting back across town (I have no idea what the traffic will be like at that time). Is the free parking on Queen's gate applicable to both sides? I've heard horror stories about the Pay & Displays, clamping etc there as one half is owned by one council, and the other half by another!

So how many of us all together?
I am already excited - of course concert but also to see new friends who has common topic "Music"!

I am happy to meet anyone little bit early (Barry suggests to meet up 16:00 ish) and do little bit Sight-seeing london. I'm quite ok about westend (my office is Victoria).

Safe journey to all biggrin.gif

I'll probably be in London way before 16:00, and I'll think of a plan... biggrin.gif

I'm not entirely sure where I'm getting the train to yet, either home (cambridge) or somewhere around Henley depending on where my parents are. It's not getting the train that's the problem, it's just I was thinking it's maybe not the best plan to go round the underground alone and (relatively) late at night. unsure.gif

My son has been up to London for the Proms 2 or 3 times now, and hasn't had any problems, as 10.30 (or whatever) isn't particularly late for London and there are lots of folk around. Everyone comes out of the RAH together, and lots are heading for the Tube. Admittedly, he was going to Paddington, not Kings Cross, but I assume it's pretty similar.

No offence to Solari, but I think you'd be safer on the Tube than taking a lift from someone you only know via the internet.

Hi Sarah,
I will be catching the tube to go home. I live in North London so will probably take the Piccadilly line up to Green Park then Victoria Line to Euston Station and then catch the Northern Line from there. If you're heading towards Kings Cross Station then it's one stop from Euston Station and so we'll probably do most of your tube journey together.

Barry, yes please count me for meal member as well.

For Parking issue, it is surely "FREE" on Sunday around RAH. (I did many times) And will not issue to get out from South Ken area after concert.
Or otherwise you come the other side of South Ken (Between Fulham), the white box is free and yellow line is ok for parking after 18:30.

I am coming by train. (Use BR VICTORIA and Tube to South Ken) so please let me know the plan on that day.
Looking forward to see you all! party1.gif
