I made Sister, so I can act up to Matron. rolleyes.gif ph34r.gif muahaha.gif rofl.gif
Could bring a very large stick I suppose?

biggrin.gif

That "large stick" is called a "baton" dear... tongue.gif Or is it a "clarinet"? Dunno... huh.gif

St G may need someone to support him in the finale..I'll volunteer you to sing with him! Good to you aren't I? party1.gif

Oh and I've had my hair done so I'm all ready now biggrin.gif
Is it ginger? biggrin.gif

QUOTE(The Old Lady @ May 23 2009, 05:35 PM) *
I am having my hair cut next Thursday. I have told Barry so he can put it in his Raspberry to remind him to say how nice it looks........that'll avoid another men thread. biggrin.gif
Seriously Flossie, people wear alsorts form old jeans and t-shirts , to suits and ties, or frocks. SOme get changed for the performance, and others don't. It's not posh rolleyes.gif Be comfy.
I'm having mine cut next Thursday too, but unlike the ladies, I won't get upset if nobody notices smile.gif . Last January I got changed for the performance - I had to find an unused rehearsal room in order to hide my embarrassment ill.gif . I won't bother to change this time though as there seem to be more people going..... unsure.gif . You ladies are so strange - "what shall I wear? Is it too posh? Is it too casual? Is the neckline too high/too low? What shoes shall I wear?" Decisions, decisions...... rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(Miss Ross @ May 23 2009, 05:44 PM) *
Flossie, yes - I am coming!
It will be good to see you there, Miss Ross. Take care on the journey, though.
gedall40
To all the people I am playing with on Saturday - I plan to be at the College at 9 am, so if you see me just grab me for a rehearsal biggrin.gif .

I should perhaps mention that last Friday I started a nasty cold (I don't think it had anything to do with the playday on Thursday or the lunch). I now have a night-time cough and my middle ears have filled with fluid - if I were a child the doctor would say it was glue ear sad.gif . So I am a bit deaf at the moment. I have been to the doctor's today to get some antibiotic which I know works, but which normally takes 4 - 5 days to get my ears clear again. (Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday - Friday - Saturday. Gulp! My partners may have to play up a bit, but the good news is that I will be singing louder than normal!) [This is good news?? unsure.gif ]

If The Old Lady is staying for a meal then as her chauffeur I had better do the same biggrin.gif .

QUOTE(DaisyChain @ May 26 2009, 09:41 AM) *
I need a few backing voices for the finale, please. Volunteers from the main choir would be great. Thank you. smile.gif
I suppose I had better volunteer again, especially if it is easier than the choral work - I will only get press-ganged if I don't. tongue.gif
Chris H
We'll try and get to Headingley for 9. I've already mentioned to Skylark that we'd like to stay for the meal, but I'll mention it here just in case!

Hm... clarinet ensemble look harmless eh? Don't be too sure laugh.gif

I am very worried about the string ensemble...I will be assaulting the ears of my family tomorrow with some practice.

laugh.gif I'll ask St George if he can pick up from Leeds station instead of Headingley. I know what time Panthera is arriving in Leeds but can false_harmonic and Flossie let me know what time they're arriving in Leeds as I've just got your Headingley time at the moment.

Any possibility I could squeeze into a lift from Leeds station? I'll be there about 9.00ish if St George has room in the boot...

Bev, could you possibly bring a spare hearing aid, just in case I need to borrow one?? unsure.gif . I can give you a cold if you really would like one wink.gif .

I was going to make a comment about the flute ensemble, but Chris H beat me to it! I wouldn't worry about conducting them if I were you. The good ones will know what they are doing, and if there are any not-so-good ones playing (tactful eh?) they will be too busy trying to read their notes to worry about what you are doing laugh.gif .

Skylark, if St George needs any help with lifts from a station, and if it fits round dinner on Friday, I would be happy to offer to collect. I plan to be at the hotel around 4 in the afternoon.

I don't need any lifts smile.gif But I should be coming out for tea on the Saturday smile.gif

Skylark - We are picking up Phantasmagoriana from home and will be there by 9.00, so you can cross her off your Station pick-ups. Also, I don't have your new portable telephone number - please email it, just in case. Lovely weather forcast for Saturday, should make for another perfect day!

Important Message for members of the Flute Ensemble

I have just found out that all the parts and score which I sent out don't have any dynamic markings on them ohmy.gif . I am very sorry to everyone (and to Wolfgang blush.gif ) for this, and to make amends I have just sent out new versions to everyone for whom I have an e-mail address. This includes Nicia, and I hope she has addresses for the others. I will also bring along a complete set on Saturday - we are going to have to play it really well, now laugh.gif .

I suppose you have all noticed this, but were too polite to say anything???? unsure.gif

There are various times I can be in either Leeds or Headingley... If there's a spare seat in a car when anyone else is being picked up, I can just get the train that will be there in time for that?

Yes it is rather a good programme isn't it rolleyes.gif

Incidentally there is one less slot than there was at the January concert, when we finished at 5.15 and I think started at 2pm. I can't promise to finish at exactly 5.15 again because not everybody confirmed the length of their slot to me, but it should be close, as long as everybody does a quick handover on stage, and either leaves the introductions to me or just gives the title/composer smile.gif

I'll sort out the transport and other queries this evening, but rest assured that everyone who has asked for a lift will get one smile.gif

I was planning to get a taxi but if you are to heading into Leeds for dinner on the Friday, my train's arriving (hopefully) just after 6pm - a lift would be most welcome! No worries otherwise smile.gif

The program looks great! Looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday.
