Its been 3 weeks today since my daughter did her Grade 2 piano exam! I'm not the most patient person by nature, and this feels like torure
Every time the phone rings, I am hoping it is her piano teacher with the results

Lets hope they're here soon, and then we go through it all again with my other daughter who is doing Grade 2 in June.

I find this bit hard too. We waited 3 weeks and 2 days for the sax results and we are waiting for a Grade 3 piano taken on 7th April.
Theory results take longer!!!!
Good luck.

My daughter took Grade 5 singing and Grade 2 piano at school on 23 and 24 March. We expect to get the results some time after she goes back to school on Tuesday this week. This time the wait has not been as bad as it usually is because I knew we could not expect to hear anything during the holidays, so the exams have been largely forgotten about. Usually I am watching the post/waiting for the phone/checking the website depending on who made the entry! I shall be on tenterhooks next week, however.

DD took her exam on the 30th March, so it seems that all those who took exams around that time are still waiting

Yes, I'm still waiting for No 3 son's singing Grade 7 result. He took the exam on 31st March. I've just been into college to teach, and the music administrator is off sick, so I hope that doesn't delay the results still further.

Yes - I'm still waiting for some results of 2 piano exams that my pupils took on 2nd April.
I've learnt from experience not to phone the board because it only delays them in working on the stuff to send out, but if I'm still waiting this time next week, I shall phone because then it would be "too long". This did happen once, I waited about 4 -5 weeks for an exam result and really felt for the pupil. Apparently the examiner hadn't posted the papers or something. The board were very apologetic and were obviously working hard behind the scenes to catch up with the errant examiner.
I think the delays this time must be due to the long bank holiday.

My daughter's gr 5 flute took 7 weeks!!!!! She had taken the exam at a specialist musci school (she doesn't go there) and the school had made a complaint about the exam session and this meant all the results were delayed!!!

It's the same for us. My daughter took Grade 7 flute on 31st March and we are still waiting! She eventually rang her teacher today incase he had forgotten to ring her!!!!!!!!!!!!

The results still haven't arrived in the post but he says if they don't arrive tomorrow he is going to ring the board.
I can't be doing with the waiting and the charging to the phone every time it rings.

Thank you all of you. We have come to the end of a very long road and I for one am very tired but delighted for our youngest!
[We have decided that the diploma is far too expensive at £168,

so she will give that a miss, and is now going to potter along and take music at her own pace]

It's a fair chunk to find in one go but as it's likely you are looking at a minimum of 12 months preparation it could be saved for at a nice gentle pace for someone who really wants to go for it.
Awesome result.

Got Emsoboes results today. G7 Oboe 127 and G5 Piano 123.
Really pleased with the Piano result as she did all the work in a term. Can't believe how far she's come in a little over a year. It's a result i'd never have thought possible.
She was lucky to get through the Oboe exam being ill but reading between the lines the examiner had little understanding of double reed instruments. I guess that's how it goes sometime.
Luckily there are so many opportunities around at the moment. It still annoys me that despite all the supposed training there are still gaps in understanding.

It was a special visit

4 exams in one term, 2 whilst she was ill and GCSE listening paper today , followed by audition. Hopefully now she'll be able to concentrate on playing more and exams less. It was part of our plan that she would begin easing off around the start of year 10.
Thanks for all the Congratulations.

Finally got my daughter's result after a 6 week wait. (I live in Turkey so I suppose this is normal here.)
She passed Grade 1 with a merit. She is seven years old. Listening through the door at the exam I heard her start her first piece an octave too low. (We only have a Yamaha electric piano at home and she couldn't find her way on a real piano!!) Her sight reading was also really bad (she failed that part) so all in all we are really pleased with her result. As she is also my first and only student I am really relieved.

I think it's very nerve-wracking entering your first pupil especially when it's your own child and you're in a different country. At least your daughter is, I assume, fluent in English.
I enter a lot of English and French children but I have no real contact with other pupils of the same level and certainly not ones following the same sort of programme.
Well done to both of you.
